Onkyo TX-8050 Loudness
Hi all,
I have recently acquired an Onkyo TX-8050 system paired with Monitor Audio BX2 speakers. While the equipment sounds great at medium-high volumes, I feel an important lack of loudness when listening at low volumes. For that reason, I would like to ask whether it would be possible that in a future firmware update a loudness activation option could be included (similarly to music optimizer, maybe with low-medium-high values). I think that it would be a very appreciated added value to the equipment that would make more people decide buying it!
Cheers!
Carlos

Re: Onkyo TX-8050 Loudness
Have you already adjusted the INTELLIVOLUME feature to a positive value to increase the volume output of your receiver? Your message has been forwarded to the appropriate representatives and department for further review and research. Thank you again for your input; as someone from the Engineering department will research your suggestion.

Re: Onkyo TX-8050 Loudness
Thank you for your fast and kind reply.
Loudness is more an equalization issue than a volume one. That is, while Intellivolume feature lineary increases or decreases the input volume level in all frequencies (to stabilize the input volume among all input sources), Loudness increases the level based in a function related to those frequencies that humans less perceive at lower volumes. The higher volume the better those frequencies are heard, thus at lower volumes we miss such "powerful" sensation in e.g. music.
Anyway I thank you for your suggestion, and really appreciate you have forwarded the message to the specialists department.
Best regards,
Carlos
