Repaired TX-NR807 Failed.....!AGAIN!
Hi,
I recently had my Onkyo TX-NR807 unit fixed by Onkyo. It has a 90 day warranty but has already failed AGAIN to the previous No Sound and No Network symptoms. This is a total of 3 failed repairs and the last just 2 months after being fixed. All for the same reason. Onkyo promised that this would be a fix but yet it failed again. Can someone give me an answer to "now what"? I dont think its fair that I cant get a good dependable receiver w/o having to paying additional money for something that should work better than this junk. Sorry for the rant but my confidence is Onkyo receivers is fading quickly.

I bought it in March of 2011 as a factory refurbished unit from BrandsmartUSA.

TX-NR807 No sound & icons
Mine sound stop working with no icons. I called Onkyo support and did a hard rest and worked for 1hr then no sound. I need help . I bought it from Shop Onkyo

Was it ever clear what was broken on that TX-NR807? My PR-SC5507 has exactly the same symptom. No Audio (Not even in pure direct from or aux or fm-tuner), and no networking.
All HDMI, menu's and the lots work. I called a repair center and they said: "Oh that is a very common problem with those units". I'm like, that sounds to me like a design flaw then.
It got a bit quite after that...
So do we know what is so prone to blow up?

I have not heard of any issues with the PR-SC5507 but on the other issue that is an internal issue that our authorized service centers handle.

So even with this 5507 showing precisely the same syptoms (I would expect sharing of subassemblies/designs between platforms), and the repair center straight of the bat saying "oh that happens all the time" you consider this just an unlucky coincidence?
Not looking forward to spend another $300 or so to get this in working order (I'm 5 months or so out of warranty).
