Why throw away a "perfectly good" amp?! Empty Why throw away a "perfectly good" amp?!

Rather than tossing my blown TX R606 7.1 rcvr, since the dc still looks good around the amp, I'd like to use an old analog preamp with the Onkyo 606 power amp section for use in my garage.

Looking for a good Samaritan that would scan me the audio only portion of the service manual.

Thanks!

Problem solved without the schematic. The short circuit, shutting down the whole unit, was in the center channel (where I originally accidentally touched to 110v).

Once I cut out all the transistors & a few resistors in the center channel circuit, plugged all the boards back together (re-soldered cut ribbon cables)...VOILA! The TX-SR606 works fine MINUS the center channel! Perfect for my garage with the $400 AudioTech Poly speakers I picked up at the thrift store for $40 Laughing

BTW, my living room has a MUCH better 7.1 rcvr now with much faster & more reliable HDMI switching than the 606.
