Well, that's exactly what I need - support for a product that's not even available!!
How about fixing the problems first? Huh?

Re: ***>> UPDATE 2012 Models Firmware <<***
I am puzzled as to why these updates do not describe in an understandable manner what is being fixed. On top of that, new support features are coming when the basic stuff is still broken. These receivers still vomit on DTS-HD master audio tracks, not to mention the sporadic monitor out issues, and remote on/off problems plastered in these threads. On top of that, we have the bizarre functionality of the dual HDMI outs, the lack of independent audio pass through on the HDMI outputs, and the undocumented feature that there is no upscaling to 1080P on the HDMI (Sub) output. When I get fed up to the maximum level, I'm going to bring this receiver to a firing range and blast it to oblivion.

You must be joking me again? The June 15th firmware has a subfolder when unzipped with slightly different versions of the firmware files at the root. WTF!!!!! Get your act together.

Thanks for introducing me to Yamaha, Onkyo!
My nightmare is over!
I returned my POS 616 and got a Yamaha RX-V673. It cost me an extra $240, but to have a receiver that works, it's well worth it.
Goodbye Onkyo - I'm not the first and I certainly won't be the last to leave you for a decent company!

It is interesting there is an update for the TX-NR717 and 817 but no update for the two receivers they replaced the 709, and 809.

Latest firmware still didn't solve the problem
It's really too bad that you are losing so many customers over this, but I can now say that after multiple attempts to fix this and give Onkyo plenty of oppurtunity to come through....I'm done. I have swapped out receivers to a different brand and now everything is working in all three of my jobs. I will never even think about purchasing another Onkyo receiver, and I will surely let my vendors know where I stand. Obviously they (my two vendors that sell Onkyo) have already heard it from their other dealers, but I will do my best to make sure nobody runs into this same fiasco that I did. Goodbye Onkyo.......forever.

Hi Onkyo
Looks like multiple users have posted that the latest attempt at resolving the HDMI video out failure through firmware updates has not resolved the issue.
Any idea if yet another firmware update is in the works or have you decided to give up on this problem and start working on some additional features that we don't need?
I would suggest that every software engineer in your employ be assigned to resolving this issue and get it fixed as soon as possible.
Do you really expect your customers to be patient guinnea pigs for much longer?
I can't imagine how many "B" stock units are going to be flooding the market at the end of this years product cycle.............
