How soon is 'soon'?

I was going to return my 616 tomorrow. Am I likely to see the update before then?

Hi Guindalf,

The only information I have is it should be out early this month (June) barring any unforeseen issues that may arise. I know that may not be the answer you're looking for but that's all the information I have currently.

I'm with you Guindalf. I'm in school and have a big exam coming up and don't have time to be messing with this. I'm also having a Zone 2 issue that I posted in another thread and they suggest that I do a complete reset on the receiver which will require me to set up the whole system again. Argh! I've got a few other minor gripes about this receiver but having to tinker with this unit when I don't have a lot of time is the big deal breaker for me.
Unless they have a firmware release in the next 48 hours that fixes all this stuff, I'm exchanging mine for a Yamaha receiver.

Wil the update only be released for US? Or can i install it on my 515 bought in germany?
If only the language support would be missing, it wont be a big problem when it solves the problem Smile

Unit returned today, exchanged for a different brand, which is working like a charm. Bummer for Onkyo. I had high hopes.

515/616 New Firmware update: Empty Firmware Issues

There are no firmwares available on Onkyo's website. The latest firmware, ...050200 still continues to have issues when the "network standby" is enabled, or even when "zone 2:source" is enabled. It will work for a couple days, then eventually stop passing video and providing a OSD Gui.

I've had mine for about a week. Last night, no video on the main hdmi out. A plug pull was required to get the video back. Note this is my second unit from Amazon. First one was not hooked up long enough to experience this. Both units do not output audio to the TV through hdmi pass through. Tech support told me to return the first one. Any one else experience this?
