TX-NR609 - Green screen on TV  Empty TX-NR609 - Green screen on TV

I am using the HDMI out to TV. Sometimes when I power up the TV and TX-NR609 the TV screen is completely green. I have changed HDMI cables and that does not help. I then switched the same HDMI cable to go directly from the DVD player to the TV and the picture on the TV was fine. The screen is only green when using HDMI out on the receiver. The component output was fine. This has happened 3 of the last 10 times I have turned on the TX-NR609. Suggestions?

Hi Rich,
I am going to ask you to run through our HDMI checklist to determine if this is an internal issue within the receiver. http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/the-hdmi-checklist/ Step three on this list is a factory reset. All the time I turn on the receiver I get the green screen from the hdmi output. I already tried to make the factory reset and nothing. I did check the hdmi cable and they work fine if i plug it directly to the tv. To make it even worst (If thats possible) Sometimes when I turn it on the ONKYO Logo appers on screen and after a few seconds the green screen come back. Important to notice that it never worked, since I bought it a few months ago from amazon. I used it only for sound and it was fine. Even now, I see the green screen but I listen perfectly from ever surce i choose from. (Not from the tv output just the speakers. Please help! I am almost returning it, so much of regrat..Best regards for all.

Hi ericob,

Unfortunately if you have already done the reset and tested the cables and the cables are fine then the receiver must be the culprit and will need to go to a service center for repair. Authorized service centers can be found on our main page under support.
