TX-NR807: Picture not being displayed properly....
I recently got a TX-NR807 and after hooking all my components (PS3, Bluray player, Digital Cable Box) into the receiver, the display on the tv is in a very low resolution / distortion. I have high grade Monster HDMI cables for all my connections so this is making me wonder what is going on. I have gone through every option in the receiver multiple times to try and calibrate all the options to work with the tv (including going through all settings in the tv in case something had to be turned on/off - Samsung UN46D6300). The odd thing though is, when the receiver is turned on the video is all messed up but when it is off/stand by there is no issue with the video feed. Also sometimes the audio goes off after a few minutes when I am playing my PS3. For the life of me I can't figure out how to fix the problem...... I just hope I don't have to send it off for repairs. Help!!!!!

Hi thebigslim,
When having HDMI issues the first thing we like to do to troubleshoot is to run through our HDMI Checklist. Here is a link to the checklist: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/the-hdmi-checklist/ Step 3 is a reset, before doing that please read our blog post on the subject: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/factory-reset/ Please keep us updated, thank you.

OK, I did exactly as instructed and unfortunately it made absolutely no difference. The video output is still distorted. I will be contacting tech support in the very near future via the web form. Unless there is something I am missing (and I don't believe I am) I am open to any more suggestions.

Hi thebigslim,
Since none of these torubleshooting techniques worked it sounds like the unit needs to go in for repair. There are two ways you can go about doing this:
1. Contact our parts and service department for assistance in obtaining a repair. They will also beable to tell you if your unit is still under warranty: 1-201-785-2600 option 4. They are here from 9am-5pm monday-friday.
2. Contact a service center directly, here is our blog post on how to locate a service center: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/locating-an-authorized-service-center-or-dealer/
Thank you for contacting Onkyo via our forum.

Re: TX-NR807: Picture not being displayed properly....
Well, since I bought the unit from someone I am going to assume it is out of the warranty, the only questions I have now are:
1) How much does a typical repair cost for a receiver?
2) What is the duration of the repairs?
3) Would I have to pay for shipping for the unit to come back to me?

Hi thebigslim,
Yes, you will be responsible for all costs from shipping to repair and return shipping. All of our service centers are individually owned and operated so they get to charge whatever they choose also you will need to contact the service center for the duration of your repair.
