Watch cable tv and listen to ipod music

Hi, I own the TX-SR508 receiver. I want to know if it is possible to watch cable tv via hdmi and listen to ipod music through the onkyo ipod port included in the system at the same time. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it is not possible if you are using an iPod docking station. But you can use a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter and you will have to assign the video over the iPod input in the setup. Thanks for being an Onkyo Customer, if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

When I switch to Bd/Dvd the audio comes through the hdmi frmo de dvd player...

In Audio Selector You can set priorities of audio output when there are both
digital and analog inputs. See page 9, number 12 on the remote (audio button), and page 44 of the owners manual to make your assignments. Hello jdelatorre48;

Yes this is possible with the TX-NR 616. For instance, you are using the HDMI cable to view a sporting event (i.e ESPN from your CBL/SAT provider via HDMI 2 onto the receiver) and you also want to broadcast audio from Pandora via an digital optical/ digital coaxial or RCA Composite Analog audio cable from your external device (i.e. Android/ Apple device, Roku, BD player, etc.). Have your receiver currently set to the proper input selection for your HDMI video feed (i.e. CBL/ SAT). You will need to go into the HOME> SETUP menu of the receiver and scroll to 4. SOURCE SETUP and press ENTER. Now scroll down to AUDIO SELECTOR and press ENTER. You will now see a menu screen showing "AUDIO SELECTOR CBL/SAT" and you will be able to toggle thru the available audio connections (OPTICAL, COAXIAL, ANALOG, etc) by pressing the RIGHT -> or LEFT <- arrow buttons. Once your selection has been made; you can press the HOME or SETUP button to fully exit the SETUP menu; as now your video feed will derive from the HDMI connection and input terminal already assigned along with the new audio feed and input connection you just already reassigned as well.
