Audyssey calibration bug on TX-NR818 with external 12v triggered amp (Onkyo M282)
I found a bug. I have the TX-NR818 and Onkyo amp M-282. I hooked up the Amp to use a trigger (zone 3) for the Front High. When I try to do the audyssey calibration it never turns on the Zone 3 power to trigger the amp. I even tried unplugging the setup mic, ensuring the amp goes on (which it does) but once I plug in the setup mic it turns it off. I even tried to initiate the zone 3 power via the receiver and remote control but it never turns it on. Thus it never powers on the amp for my Front High so it can't calibrate the front highs if the amp can't turn on.
The only workaround for this is to reach around the back, turn off the amp trigger and force the power to be on but this is a pain.

Hi revlisoft,
It sounds like you are trying to use a main 12 volt trigger which can not be done on this unit. This is not a bug it is the way the unit was designed.

Yes. I'm using the Zone 2/Zone 3 12v trigger. So it is by design that you can't turn on the 12v trigger to activate an amp during the Audyssey calibration?

Hi revlisoft,
Correct because once you plug the MIC in it activates the Audyssey software thereby turning off zone-2/3.

It's by design but seems that it would be nice to have this feature especially if one is trying to do calibrations with an external amp + speakers controlled via the 12v trigger.
