RC-799M remote not working
Is there a way to "reboot" a remote? I bought the HT-RC330 receiver, the one that came with the Bose Acoustimass package, about a month ago and last night the remote stopped working. Naturally, the first thing I did was put new batteries in but still notta? I read (somewhere) to hold the receiver and home button down until it blinks 2 or 3 times then press the receiver button to reset the remote but that didnt do anything. Any ideas?

Re: RC-799M remote not working
Hi blue454nova,
Do you know if the remote ID is correct on the remote as well as the receiver?
Here is the way to reset the remote control on this unit:
You can reset a REMOTE MODE to its default remote
control code.
Resetting REMOTE MODE Buttons
1 While holding down REMOTE MODE that you
want to reset, press and hold down HOME until the
remote indicator lights (about 3 seconds).
2 Within 30 seconds, press REMOTE MODE again.
The remote indicator flashes twice, indicating that the
button has been reset.
Each of REMOTE MODE is preprogrammed with a
remote control code. When a button is reset, its
preprogrammed code is restored.

Thanks but the issue I'm having is my Onkyo remote is no longer controlling my Onkyo reciever. How do I pair them up again?

Hi blue454nova,
Are the remote ID's paired in both the remote and the receiver?

Re: RC-799M remote not working
Hi,
I'm sorry but I dont actually understand what you mean by "are the ID's paired in both the remote and the receiver".
The remote I'm using came with the receiver at purchase. Its been working fine until a few days ago and despite new batteries and using the aforementioned reset technique it will not control the receiver anymore. The receiver works fine manually and the remote still has a red indicator light anytime I press a button but it seems to be out of sync from the receiver now.

Re: RC-799M remote not working
Hi blue454nova,
Let me try and explain a little better and I apologize for the delay. There are 3 different ID's this receiver and remote have these are put in place if you have more then one but not more then 3 Onkyo units, so let's say you want to control just one unit and not the others. These ID's can be set to 1, 2 or 3, this information can be found in the manual on page 34 but it is under the "hardware setup" on the on-screen-display. Normally it is set to 1. Could verify that this in fact the case on the receivers end that would be appreciated? Thank you and I hope this helps.

Re: RC-799M remote not working
Nothing happens. I did realize I've never mentioned in my previous posts that the remote control doesnt even turn the receiver on. I have to manually turn on the receiver but even then the remote control is unable to control it.
So now I'm stuck believing either a 2 month old remote is broken or it (somehow) became un-synced from the receiver. I've done all your previous suggestions but nothing is working.
Any other ideas?

Hi blue454nova,
There is no way to un-sync the remote and receiver other then the way I described earlier. I would contact one of authorized service centers to have your remote looked at they can be found on our main page under support.
