Onkyo UWF-1 Wireless USB issue
I have not heard back from Onkyo Support regarding the fact that i cannot use the Onkyo UWF-1 wireless USB adapter to connect to the net unless, I have my ssid enabled.
I asked that they update the firmware to allow for manually inserting the ssid, so that it remembers the next time around, just as every other device I know of and have does.
Unless I am doing something wrong (please enlighten me), i find the wireless usb adapter useless (what a waste of money), especialy since i do not plan to broadcast my ssid just for Onkyo.

Hi moma,
Which receiver are you trying to connect the UWF-1 with? Thank you.

Hi moma,
Unfortunately the SSID will need to be unhidden in order for its use. There are currently no firmware updates that will make it not be so. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Re: Onkyo UWF-1 Wireless USB issue
I see the ability to not require SSID broadcast as a basic requirement for all wireless devices.
One of the reason for going with Onkyo was this wireless feature. My mistake.
You owe it to other Onkyo AVR customers to make sure they understand the requirement for using wireless, since it is not clear and something expected based on how most other wireless devices function.
On a larger issue, are their any plans to update the firmware for the 709 with features suggested by many of your customers, or are you done?
