TXSR602 not putting Dolby digital on digital cable.

I have both my Xbox 360 and play station 3 hooked up with optical cables and each puts out Dolby digital or DTS. I know this because the display mode says Dolby Digital or DTS. When playing my digital cable however, which is hooked up with a coaxial audio cable and is set to Dolby Digital on the Explorer 8300 HD DVR, it only displays/puts out the modes like tv logic, orchestra, enhanced, etc. what is up? I know all cables work properly in my set up too.

Can you tell me exactly how you have this connected as it should be outputting the same audio as it would be when connected to optical?

I have digital cable hooked up via digital coaxial for audio and hdmi for video.

Just as a test please disconnect the HDMI for video and leave the digital coaxial for audio and see if you get Dolby Digital and or DTS?
