HT RC 370 connected to Sony BDPS580 - NO PICTURE Only Sound - Pls help!

I just connecetd my new HT RC 370 to Sony BDP S580 Blue Ray by a 6ft HDMI. TV is LG..I tried changing the inputs on the reciever options, tried using differnt hdmi port, different hdmi cable, changing the setting under the hardware options - still no picture. The Blue works fine when conneced direct to tv ( bypassing the reciver)..I thought maybe its the Blueray player so I bought a new LG BD660c blue ray player - same issues.

I have my tv connceted to hdmi out on the reciever..

What is the HDMI cable length from the HT-RC370 to the TV as this may have some bearing on what you are experiencing? Also can you get the on screen display when pressing the setup button on either the front of the unit or by using the remote?

Cable Length is 12ft ( inwall) I replaced the cable in question with another cable and that fixed the problem..Wierd because my cable box was transmitting sound and picture just fine over the same cable...
