Updating 818?????

I have tried to update my new 818 via ethernet and USB. I called tech support twice and still cant get it updated. I am using a Mac to try to do the USB and I took the ethernet out of the back of my apple airport extreme and plugged it into the back of the 818. The ethernet was going directly from the back of the cable modem to the reciever. Does anyone have any info to help me with. Im at wits end and dont know how to do this. Im not computer savoy so I need detailed directions.

OK I give up. I just spent over a hour on the phone with Onkyo support and could get it. I tried to download the Zip file on a USB for the 10th time and no luck. I reset my modem and plugged it in so it would get the reciever mac address and no luck. I do not know how to update this thing. I have a Cisco modem, Apple Airport express, and all macbook laptops.

What is your email address? I can send the firmware update to you directly via and all you'd need to do is drap the files onto your USB flash drive. Seems some Mac owners are having some issues commencing the firmware update; providing me your email address- I can send the files to your email and after a simple drag and drop- you will be relieved of the error 0-14 DL error. Please send this information to the following email address (onkyoadmin@us.onkyo.com) attention FORUM MODERATOR TX-NR 818 F/W SHAREFILE.

I downloaded it and the 818 displayed the file. When I hit enter it went to 2 clicks and then showed a no item. Im not sure what I did. I erased the USB and went to redownload it and could not get there as the link is closed. Could you resend it? I just take the whole file you end and drag the whole file over, or do I open the folder and then drag each one? I formatted my USB to a FAT.
