Hey guys. I am new to audio and home theater. How do I setup and use the hybrid standby?

You can use the HDMI THRU feature to have the receiver on STANDBY and still stream HDMI video and audio signals to your TV from another connected device onto the receiver. Go into the SETUP menu and scroll down to HARDWARE SETUP and press the ENTER button. Now scroll down to HDMI and press ENTER again. Now scroll down to HDMI THROUGH and select the option AUTO by pressing the RIGHT > arrow button.

When done, press the SETUP button to fully exit the menu. Now power off ALL devices (receiver, TV, CBL/ SAT box, DVD/ BD player, etc.). When all are powered down, turn on just the TV and CBL box and await 10 seconds before turning on receiver; if successful- the receiver should emit a light on HDMI THRU. If you have any more questions or concerns, Please contact our Product Support Dept for further assistance with this specific issue via our phone number and hours of operation (800-229-1687; option #3 PRODUCT SUPPORT 24 hours a day). We would like to speak with you and work to troubleshoot and resolve your issue as prompt as possible.

Thank You;
