TX-NR414 different audio / video sources
Hello,
Is it possible to watch video from one source (HDMI or analog) and listen audio from a different source (analog) with Onkyo TX-NR414 or other Onkyo models?
We want get video from PC or Bluray or PS3 with HDMI and same time get sound from microphone via RCA.
Can this be done also with remote control so we can easily program macros to do the job?

Re: TX-NR414 different audio / video sources
Yes this is also an option on this receiver. First, select the input you'd like to view the video content from and will be changing its audio source to the preferred format. Now go into the SETUP menu of the receiver and scroll down to SOURCE SETUP and press the ENTER button. Now scroll down to the AUDIO SELECTOR option found in this submenu. This option only works for audio connections made via HDMI, digital optical, digital coaxial, or RCA Analog cables.
So you will basically connect your microphone via the supported audio cable connection (RCA analog) and under the AUDIO SELECTOR submenu; select ANALOG and the audio feed will derive from the RCA Analog audio cable while the video feed will derive from the HDMI cable connection. Lastly; the remote controller on the TX-NR 414 doesn't have the capabilities to execute macros to enable this specific configuration for programming.

Thanks for your reply.
I know TX-NR 414 remote controller can't excecute macros, but can this all be done remote control by manual? We will buy Logitech Harmony 1100 universal remote which can run macros, but it won't benefit if we can't select audio source remote.
We also have multiple HDMI video inputs (PC, Bluray, DVD) and every input we have to get audio from microphone without chancing RCA cables. If i'm understanding right this is possible? Also we need sometimes HDMI own sound.

You can get the audio from these input sources via the HDMI cable connection or if you prefer to using RCA COMPOSITE audio analog- you can use the AUDIO SELECTOR previously offered.
