I just purchased a Samsung HW-E450C soundbar. My Samsung BluRay and Motorola Cable box from comcast both connect to my TXSR-608 receiver with HDMI cables. My cable box then connects from "monitor out" on my TXSR-608 to the soundbar with an HDMI cable and the soundbar connects to the TV with an HDMI cable. If I take the receiver out of the loop everything works directly. If the receiver is in the loop the picture will come up for a second and then dissappear and the sound goes off and on in about 1 second intervals. I disconnected and reconnected everything yesterday and it worked for a moment before going back to no picture and intermitant sound. I have tried inputting my cable box to different HDMI inputs with no luck. I have tried changing the cables around. It seems to be a receiver issue. Can anyone help? Crying or Very sad

I tried calling Onkyo as you suggested. They said they couldn't troubleshoot because the receiver works fine if it goes directly to the TV without the soundbar. Samsung won't troubleshoot because they say it is the receiver. There is obviously an incompatibility here but no one wants to try to figure it out. The only time this happens is if the Onkyo is involved. I have been purchasing Onkyo products for many years. I think I will be switching to something with some support.
