Onkyo TX-SR875 loosing memory after powercuts
My 875 has started to lose all settings after powerlosses and full power off's.
And when started it shows a message like: "test - 2-12" and last digit flashing.
Everything is wiped. Very frustrating to have to do them all over everytime.
If set in standby it lose only input assignments and names.
Warranty is gone since long.
I thought it was a flashmemory inside not needing power to hold settings, but now it does not seem so.

Re: Onkyo TX-SR875 loosing memory after powercuts
I would prefer to repair it myself (education in electronics) for one: there are only 2 service centers in sweden and would cost for shipping and repair as much as a new amp would cost me.
And i would be without it for atleast 6-8weeks.
second: warranty is looong gone. Had it happened 2-3years ago maybe i could have got anew one on warranty.
third: it can't be that hard to repair.
Is it batterybacked memory or large cap, or electrical flashmem?

Hi AndersE,
Even though you may have experience in electronics it is not advised for the end user to do so and if it needs a complete board you will not be able to purchase one through us as they are reserved for authorized service centers only as this is standard policy.

But this is a very common fault i have read, so it would be easy to just tell me what needs to be changed.
I do NOT believe a whole board needs to be changed.

Hi AndersE,
That is something that an authorized service center would be able to tell you.
