connecting nintendo wii

i have tx-nr509 i have component cables going from nintendo wii to receiver then hdmi to tv. i have set game to component 1 and i get a blue screen, obviously sound is fine. How can i get the video to come through, i have tried every setting possible. can someone tell me how to set this up as i do not want to put the component video cables direct to tv

As per the manual on page 70 it states that you must output the signal the same way it comes in and in your case it must be output via the component out.
