TX-SR707 No Audio Sound
TX-SR707 No Audio Sound - Started having no audio issue in early Jan 2012 and Onkyo support asked me to give the receiver to the service center for repair, I did so. after few weeks got a call saying unit was fixed. Picked up the unit and used it for a bit (not all the time) again the NO AUDIO ISSUE CAME, it's really frustrating. Called the customer support again and told me that first time the service center may not have replaced the correct parts and asked me to give the unit again for service. We knew it's a known issue for TX-SR707 model why Onkyo is not instructing the service center to replace the correct parts or why can't replace the unit.

I did hand delivered the unit today to the service center. I need to make sure that they are fixing correct. also need to get another 2+ years of warranty from Onkyo as this is the known issue on this model or replace the unit.
Don't know as how long do I need to wait to get the unit back..........

Service center saying that they are waiting for the parts and the parts will be available on 7/31/2012. Please let me know why it's taking so long... to give the parts to the repair center. If it's going to take longer time then please send me new unit. Second time sitting in the service center.

They're looking at your serial number in effort to find a way around the warranty.
They'll pretend otherwise, bnut you won't get any satisfaction from Onkyo USA: they are only in it for the money; and once they have yours, it's "Thank you! Now get lost!"

Another unhappy customer. I too bought this receiver in Feb of 2010 and I had the same failure occur just last week. I cannot beleive Onkyo would sell a product with such a horrible failure rate. I hope you are repairing all receivers free of charge that are barely over extended warranty because I am not going to pay $81 in shipping plus parts and labor to repair this bad product. If so then I will just file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will also not purchase anymore of your products and recommend my friends to do the same.

Same problem
I recently just had the same problem. I am beyond frustrated now that I see how many other people have this problem. This is the last time I buy anything from Onkyo again unless they fix this dam thing. I have a THIRTEEN YEAR OLD NAD receiver that still works like the day I got it. I've had this for about 2 years and now it breaks..Come on Onkyo step up your game and fix my unit or I will never buy another thing from you even though I was planning on buying an amp

Today I got my receiver TX-SR707 from the service center, after the second time NO AUDIO SOUND issue fix, connected all the cables and turn it on to a radio station and power it off and then power (after few minutes) it on and no audio sound issue came back, this is the third time happening.
Here is the fix description from the service center receipt "Problem/Complaint: HDMI PROBLEM, Service Performed: Performed Q3001 reflow procedure and tested...Unit failed after 3 days on test bench...Requested HDMI PCB ASSY...Replaced HDMI PCB ASSY. and tested with no further problems. Auth# PCB47514"
This fix didn't work not even one hour. What is wrong with OnkyoUSA.......................................................

TX-SR707 No Sound
I also bought an SR707 in 2010. Have returned it twice for repair. The first time they said it worked fine, but after a month, there it was again, no sound from any input channel, no speaker indicator lights on. Just dead. Unplugging it works for awhile, as does resets. Then nothing. Re-sent it in for repair under a one-time warranty, they replaced the input board and it worked for a around 6 months. But last week, it started again. I'm still in the "unplug it every time I change input channels" period, but within a few weeks it will probably be dead again. I had the idea to use it as a pre-processor, but alas, since it's the input board there's no pre-outs either, so that won't work. Has Onkyo redesigned the input board yet? Or is the real solution just to junk it?

I'm joining the crowd
My 707 has had intermittent audio for over a year. I would simply play this power off-on cycle game and it eventually started working. This past weekend it appears to have finally failed completely. Until I went online to investigate, I had no idea how common an issue this was for this model. I have emailed my issue to 'parts at us dot onkyo dot com' but since my receiver is well over two years old at this point I have little faith there is anything Onkyo is going to do to help. I'm really hoping they do however because this is my second Onkyo product and really like the brand.
