BD-SP309 player cannot read the BD media

Recently (end of December 2011), I've bought my 3d SP309 player.
Connected it to my TX-NR509 AV Receiver and rented a 3D disk to give it a try.
All that to be visualized via a Panasonic Viera TX-P46VT20E (a 3D plasma).

I was so pleased with the results, that I went straight away and rented another 3d disk ("Conan the Barbarian").

This time, the disk would not be read and the player would not react on any commands.
Things I tried to fix it:

Tested it successfully on a Samsung blu-ray player.
Updated the firmware on my SP309 as well as on the receiver.
Played with different "auto" settings.

Nothing would work.
Is there someone who'd be able to point me to what I'm missing here?

I´ve have the same problem with mine Sp309. With the 3D-2D version of the Conan the Barbarian and The Three Musketiers. I´ve already get an new one from the supplier, but it has the same problem. Also the latest Firmware is installed.
