Rear Speakers not working with TX-SR309
A few months ago I purchased the TX-SR309 Receiver and it was working great. About one/two months later, both rear speakers do not work and they went out at the same time. I have a 5.1 system and the other speakers work well. What could be wrong?

Hi stratzbm,
Do you see both A & B highlighted in the display when this is happening? Only speaker A should be lit in a normal setup.
Thank you.

I had it in A & B, just A, just B; none of these produce sound out of the back speakers

Re: Rear Speakers not working with TX-SR309
Hi stratzbm,
Please try checking the speaker wires in the back to make sure they are in nice and tight. If this is acceptable and you still do not get rear audio then try resetting the receiver. To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings. If you still are not getting rear audio try setting the listening mode to "all ch st" and if that does not work then the unit will need to be further evaluated at a service center. Authorized service centers can be found on our main page under support.
Thank you.
