Setup default Input at startup: TX-NR709

Hi

When switching on my TX-NR709, it automatically selects TV/CD as default input.

How can I change it to select Cable/SAT instead, when I switch the receiver on?

This would indicate that AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL (ARC) is active on the receiver and this would also expalin the reasoning for the receiver to change inputs from CBL/SAT to TV/CD (to support the ARC feature of your ARC-capable TV). To stop this occurrence, go into the SETUP menu of the receiver and scroll down to HARDWARE SETUP and press ENTER. Now scroll down to HDMI and press ENTER again. Now scroll down to AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL and toggle the option by pressing the arrow button from "AUTO" to "OFF". When done, press the SETUP button to fully exit the menu and power down all devices (Onkyo, TV, Cbl/sat box, etc.). Repower all devices and this issue should be resolved.

I am using the ARC function so I guess its either disable ARC or live with this "feature"
