How can I stream music form Linux to Tx-NR509?
I have recently got Tx-NR509 AV receiver. It is a great system and I enjoyed it a lot. I am using Linux/Fedora, and I could not figur out how to configure AV receiver to paly the music files stored on my computer. I can use the DLNA feature on AV receiver and configure Windows Media Player 12 to access to the music stored on a Windows machine. Is there any solution to the same with a Linux machine? Thanks!

Hi seakha,
Unfortunately Linux is not a supported format but you may be able to find 3rd party software that will enable this function. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi,
Can you please give us a hint how we can enable the play-to feature with actual linux distributions? What software is required and works?
Asl you already provide a remote control for android you may be able to tell us the linux side of enabling this feature of playing music from the linux desktop and audio output via DLNA to the AVR.
Many thanks for your support.

[SOLVED] How can I stream music form Linux to Tx-NRxxx?
Hi all,
as this thread is viewed by many people, and I spent a view days to find a solution for this, I will share in short my experiences.
First, yes, this is possible with "rygel" and "pulseaudio" soundserver. I tried this with an "Ubuntu Precise". You have to install the sources of the package "rygel", adapt the source code and configure pulseaudio to stream to DLNA/uPnP. Then configure the "rygel" GstLaunch plugin as described in the links below.
I filed two bug reports and maybe rygel gets adapted in the future, so we can use the package as it is. Here the links to my bugreports, where you can see all relevant information:
(as I can not post external links here, I leave away the http...)
Onkyo TX-NRxxx not recognized:
bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=674733
rygel-http-request.vala:97: Invalid seek request:
bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=674736
Good luck.
