TX-NR717 simultaneous video question...
When I have a composite source into the "game" input and an HDMI source into the "game" input...is there really no way to switch between viewing the two while they are both running? Are they not two TRUE separate inputs, composite game and HMDI game?
I read something in the manual that HDMI has the priority, but sometimes during long firmware updates on my current generation gaming systems I'd like play older games that only use composite jacks. Is there a work around for this?
Also, those same older games run best at 4:3....so when I have both plugged in to game it squishes my HDMI input (that gets the priority). I know I can adjust this every time, but that can get annoying. Can I change and save the settings for the composite Game and the HDMI Game separately? Thanks!

Re: TX-NR717 simultaneous video question...
Unfortunately; these are NOT separate inputs- they are separate connections that fall under the SAME input (i.e. GAME INPUT). You are correct than HDMI takes video priority over COMPONENT VIDEO and COMPOSITE video connections- and you also have the option of running a matching COMPOSITE or COMPONENT VIDEO cable connection from the MONITOR OUT terminal for COMPOSITE or COMPONENT video from the receiver to your TV (but you will need to change the INPUT SOURCE on your TV to COMPONENT or COMPOSITE instead of HDMI). There is NO format currently to toggle and advise the receiver that you wish to utilize the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT instead of HDMI. Also- you do not need to make this configuration when using COMPOSITE video connections.
