Onkyo HT-RC180 audio problems
Dear Onkyo
I have been having the audio problems described in other threads for some time - basically the sound went away about once a month, but power cycling the receiver fixed the issues.
However, as of today the audio is completely gone. I power cycle the receiver without luck, plus have tried a factory reset - still no luck. Nothing has changed in my setup.
The receiver has been great, and I'd appreciate advice on how I get this problem fixed. I am located in Northern California.
Sounds like the same problem as this: https://onkyoproductsupport.forumotion.com/t125-ht-rc180-no-audio?highlight=audio

Receiver repaired and stopped again
Hi everyone
I got the receiver back from repair, but it started acting up 3 months later, and the repair shop says it is out of warranty. So I now have the same situation - an Onkyo receiver that works perfectly BUT NO AUDIO.
Anyone have any advice on what I can do here? Time to throw it out and buy a new one? If I get it repaired again will I just be in the same situation? I am pretty good at electronics - is there anything I can do myself?
I am thinking Denon this time...

Re: Onkyo HT-RC180 audio problems
I have the same Issue, I have emailed the parts department 3 times and have had no response. My receiver gives me no audio(works occasional after reset) and the network doesn't work any longer.
My unit is barely under warranty, I am concerned if i send it in it will get a quick fix "re-solder" or "re-flow" only to have the unit fail again shortly after the warrant runs out; as others have posted all over these boards and others...
It would be nice to get a response and an indication that the defective HDMI board would be fully replaced (not repaired) under warranty to ensure a working unit.
