TX-8211 Problem ~ (I think its bad...) Empty TX-8211 Problem ~ (I think its bad...)

Ok All, here it goes:

Received my new speakers today (Polk-Monitor 75's) and acting foolishly I swiftly ran my old Infinitys down stairs and took the speak wire from those two speakers and plugged those into one of my new Polks as it has the 4 connectors in the rear.

Both were on the 'b' channel (apologize for the ignorance here) so I ran 1 from the 'L' side and 1 from the 'R' side. I turned the dial all the way to the 'right' channel as I wanted an additional 'ahhh' once I heard half of what she had (or so I thought). All right channel, no problem. Turned a little left channel on "PROTECT".. Hmm Okay. All right channel, more juice, screen goes blank. Unplugged, let sit, dusted her out... To no avail.

Receiver shot? I pulled the top off real quick praying there was a inline fuse or sorts only to see that there was not.

I am having an ugly sweater party next weekend and bought myself a house warming/xmas gift (the 75's, Onkyo TX-NR515, and a Polk PSW505 sub) and planned on putting the old setup in the basement for additional entertainment. Now what? I found that Best Buy is an authorized dealer and possible repair center but was hoping there was a quick fix. If not, is it worth it to send this puppy for repair?

This was the first 'real' receiver I bought in my teens, a right of passage if you will, so Id like to hold onto her but if the costs far outweigh the rewards I have no problem parting ways.

And Ive read the reviews on the NR515 and am again praying that the firmware update resolves the HDMI issues or I will be visiting that chapter in the forum.

Any and all advice/opinions are appreciated.

Thanks again.

In case there is a poor sole who runs into this same issue in the future... (there were no results when I searched this forum for tx-8211, 8211, etc.)

:/ Underneath the dust I was able to locate a fuse right next to where the power cable attaches to the circuit board. Blown to all git out. Im outta town the next few days but plan to replace this in a few days time and I will update the thread.

Keeping my fingers cross.

...From what Ive read, it looks like if you have a 'standby light' or rather the 'standby light' still illuminates you may be in luck. Testing this soon.
