HT-S3500 Cannot get Audio to Pass Thru for TV

Hi, new owner here. Just hooked up an HT-S3500 in a bedroom. Simple set-up. I have a Direct TV DVR in the Satellite Input, A Sony Blu-Ray in the Blu-Ray inpout and the output goes to a Vizio EV370L TV.. As I understand it, in standby power mode, I should be able to pass thru the audio and video to the TV. I can easily see times when I may want to watch TV with just the TV audio and not ahve the Onkyo system on. As is stands now, I get the video passing thru with the Onkyo in stand-by, but the audio does not pass thru.

The receiver/processor unit in the HT-S3500 is the HT-R391

Can you confirm that your TV supports Audio Return Channel and that the HDMI cable from the receiver into the TV is connected into the proper HDMI terminal that supports ARC? Have you also activated this option on both your TV and the receiver as well?

Yes. All is correct. CEC is activated on the TV. I have searched and found the receiver. On the receiver, RHID is on and set to auto.

What I want is for the TV audio to play via the TV when the receiver in not turned on. Is that what this scenario is designed to do?

Please go to the Setup -> 10. HDMI setting (I dont remember the correct name of menu but its option 10). Enter. Then select HDMI pass thru option. I think its option 2 or 3.
Then press return 2 times and u will be all set.
