Audio settings/listening modi ==> Net radio
Hello,
I was wondering if (and how) the audio settings and listening modi are in effect while listening to internet radio ?
Yesterday I was listening to an internet radio channel and wanted to decrease the amount of bass in the front speakers without knowing how to do this.
That made me wonder if the other settings (bass, treble, listening modus, level cal, etc….) are in effect in network modus ? And if so, if they are approachable in network modus.
Many thanks,
Filip

What is the model of the receiver in question? This information would provide a concise answer to your question.

I have a Onkyo TX-NR414
This is my first high quality A/V receiver, so I am in the learning phase :-)
I have some follow up questions too:
* I have a Samsung Smart TV which I connected to the HDMI output of the receiver. My Cable/Sat, Media player and HD/DVD player are connected to the HDMI inputs of the receiver. I'm reading a lot about Audio Return Channel. Is there any use of this functionality in my setup ? And if so, can you give me some directions on how to set this up ?
* Lipsync: I have enabled this function on my receiver. However, It doesn't seem to do much. How can I can get this function work in my given configuration.
My apologies for my broken english.

Re: Audio settings/listening modi ==> Net radio
If your TV supports ARC, you can simply use the HDMI connected from your receiver into the TV to pass the audio signal from your TV into the receiver. You will just simply need to go into the SETUP menu on the receiver and scroll down to HDMI SETUP and press the ENTER button. Now scroll down to HDMI CONTROL (RIHD) and enable this feature by pressing the RIGHT > arrow button surrounding the ENTER button. When done, press the SETUP button to fully exit the menu. Now power off ALL devices (receiver, TV, CBL/ SAT box, DVD/ BD player, etc.). When all are powered down, turn on just the TV and CBL box and await 10 seconds before turning on receiver; if successful- the receiver should route itself to the TV/CD input. This input is used to connect the ARC function of both the TV and receiver (also check your TV SETTINGS to see if ARC is ENABLED).
ARC (Audio Return Channel) is utilized to stream the audio content from your TV (i.e. YouTube app, Pandora app) back onto the receiver via the HDMI connection and TV/CD input on your receiver. Lastly; LIPSYNC is more of an automatic self-calibration option and if you are noticing no significant change with the activation of this feature. You can also use the A/V SYNC option to manually adjust the delay time of the audio and video signals for manual synchronization. You will need to go into the HOME SETUP menu and scroll down to SOURCE SETUP and press ENTER. Now scroll down to AV SYNC and press ENTER again. You will now be able to adjust the delay time by 10 milliseconds and also have the ability to see these changes by pressing the ENTER button to view the adjustment and pressing thr RETURN button to revert back to the previous screen and make the adjustment again for AV Sync.

Re: Audio settings/listening modi ==> Net radio
Thanks for this crystal clear answer !!
There's one question left though. Are the audio settings (bass, treble, listening modus etc....) in effect in "network" modus ? If so, can they be adjusted while the net modus is active ?
Thank you,
Filip

I apologzie about missing that question- my error: but when using the NET function- only the listening mode option is accessible. Both Treble and Bass are not available for the NET input function; you can change the listening mode options by pressing the preferred button(s) [ MUSIC, STEREO, MOVE/TV buttons, etc.]

Are you sure about that ? Nothing happens when I press any of the buttons MUSIC, STEREO, MOVIE/TV while the receiver is in network modus (listening to an internet radio station).
Many thanks for your support,
Filip

OK, apparantly, I had to push the 'receiver' button first. It works now :-)
By the way, this is an awesome receiver !! I'm in Home Cinema Heaven since I got this amp.
Cheers, Filip
