I have connected an hdmi 2 from panasonic tv to hdmi sub out on Onkyo. I have selected tv/cd but I am getting no sound from av receiver. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

ARC is only functional with the HDMI MAIN output on the receiver; it is NOT supported with use of the HDMI SUB output (as the ARC feature is labeled on HDMI MAIN only). We would like to speak with you and work to troubleshoot and resolve your issue as prompt as possible.

Hi,
Thanks, great tech support. I was able to resolve it. For anyone who has the same issue:
These are the steps:
1) connect hdmi out from AV to Hdmi 2 on Tv (marked as Arc), no other hdmi connection is needed
2) go to set up on av, choose option 7 for hardware then choose hdmi, turn hdmi control (RHID) ON
3) on tv, goto setup , choose theater speakers

Now I am able to watch netflix from viera apps with surround sound! Very Happy
