HT-S5400 video flickering problems
Hi I am having a problem with the S5400. the video keeps flickering I tried to reset it, i unplugged it for about a minute, and finally i tried different cables. it only happen with the hdmi connections. any help will be appreciated

First, how long is your HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV and what is the maximum resolution your TV can handle?

its about 6 ft and the max the tv can handle is 1080p

Hi dajonesta,
What input is happening on? Also have you tried the factory reset yet? To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.

I'm having the same problem, but RESET did not solve it.
I have a Sony BD/DVD hooked up to BD/DVD on Receiver, then HDMI out to TV (LG 1080p Plasma). When in BD/DVD mode, the video will cut out and stay out for 10 seconds or so, like its trying to sync or something. This will happen repeatedly every 15-20 seconds, making watching anything nearly impossible.
This error comes and goes. We just finished watching a 2 hour movie with no problems, now I can't get it to stop.
What can I do??

Hi!
Yes, I did try a factory reset. After a week or so this started happening again. It is intermittent - sometimes I will get it every 5-10 seconds, other times, nothing.
Like I mentioned, its almost like a synchronization is missing in the video feed or something.
My HDMI cable is 6 feet, I believe (or less).

No, I have not been able to test this on another HDTV.
