HT-R580 - Component Audio working Video not working Empty HT-R580 - Component Audio working Video not working

Hello,

I just got a wii yesterday and I am unable to get a video signal through my receiver to my TV. Everything in my current setup (TV, CableBox, BluRay) are all connected via HDMI. The wii is the only thing that is connected via component cable.

Can someone guide me as to what settings I would need to change to be able to see video? I currently have the component cables plugged into the "Component Game" port on the back of the reciever.

I did read something in the manual about IN2 and IN1... but I did not understand what it was asking me.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi,

You will want to go into the receivers setup menu under input assign then component video and assign the game port to either IN1 or IN2, where ever you made the physical connection to on the back of the Onkyo. Also note that you will have to set the game port under HDMI to all dashes this way the unit knows that we are not using HDMI but Component. You can also call our Product Support Team at 800-229-1687 for assistance. They are here from 9am to 8pm Mon. to Fri. and also Sat. and Sun. from 10am to 4pm eastern std. time.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply.

How do I put the Red, White and Yellow cable into the IN1 and IN2? I notice that they are different in colours...

If you are using red, white and yellow you are using composite cables not component. In this case you will connect the red, white and yellow cables to the game port under the composite connections (match the colors of the cables), then you will want to go into the setup menu under input assign and set both the HDMI and Component Inputs for Game to all dashes.

Thanks,
